Beast’s Extra Bases/Extra Yards Program is Speed & Agility training geared toward young athletes (Ages 10 – 12).
The program runs Saturday mornings (i.e. one session per week).

Creating an exercise program for young athletes requires special attention, as safety and proper prescription are imperative. However, a good program that adheres to these considerations should yield impressive results on the field.
Beast’s youth speed, agility, and reaction training program, Extra Bases/Extra Yards, is designed to teach young players essential fundamentals that will help further their success at their respective athletic endeavors.
Every Extra Bases/Extra Yards session begins with a dynamic warm-up that includes various movements in all three planes of motion. This type of warm-up is safer and more effective than ballistic or static stretching, which research shows is contraindicated at the beginning of a workout.
Rather than emphasizing range of motion at a given joint capsule, these dynamic movements address the synergistic qualities of the entire kinetic chain, developing neuromuscular patterns, and proprioceptive awareness.
The remainder/bulk of the session will focus on linear and multi directional speed, agility, reaction, and strength. Beast utilizes a number of different tools and techniques, such as:
-Various forms of plyometrics
-Bodyweight strength exercises
-Cone and hurdle drills
Most importantly, we realize children learn best when they are having fun in the process. Using unique drills and games, young athletes can enjoy their time in the gym while still developing their athletic skills.
Typical Training Duration: 10 weeks – one session per week
